    Wine Region : Maipo Valley
    Grape Variety : Cabernet Sauvignon
    Vintage : Current Vintage
    Alcohol : 14%

Description : This Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is from northeast-facing vineyards that enjoy abundant sunlight and cool afternoon breezes, this allows for a wide variation in temperature. At night, the temperature can drop by as much as 22ºC compared to the daytime peak.
Due to the marked thermal oscillation between day and night during the grapes’ maturation this wine has ripe, fruity and complex aromas of plum, blackberry and cassis, with subtle notes of bay leaves. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, it has notes of cloves, black pepper and vanilla. The influence of the soil (angular stones, and loamy-sandy texture) is evident in this wine’s good structure and medium body with soft and round tannins. The mineral soils of volcanic origin also aid in achieving a deep and balanced wine.

    Country :  Australia
About Wine : Penley Estate’s wine maker Kate Goodman is regarded as one of Australia’s best contemporary winemakers. Kate looks to create wines with freshness and vibrancy – seeking structure and expression of fruit – while retaining the integrity of the grape variety. Like a Phoenix from the ashes, this Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon rises from the glass with a complex bouquet of plum, blackberry and anise with a dusting of dark chocolate. It’s a delicious red wine, intense and long on the palate with savoury tannins coating the mouth.
    Region : South Australia
    Sub Region : Coonawarra
    Primary Grape(s) : Cabernet Sauvignon
    Alcohol : 14.0%
History : Penley Estate is located in the centre of Australia’s most famous Cabernet Sauvignon region: Coonawarra. Continuing a family tradition that spans five generations, the winery was established in 1988 when the Tolley children (Kym, Bec and Ang) bought a block of land in Coonawarra, continuing the winemaking heritage of their pioneering families, Penfold and Tolley, both storied names in the Australian wine industry.
Today, the estate has grown significantly to over 80 hectares of vines and a state of the art winery. In 2015, Ang and Bec Tolley took full ownership of the company and made a number of important changes, key of which, was the appointment of Kate Goodman, regarded as one of Australia’s best contemporary winemakers. Behind the scenes Ang’s husband David Paxton, one of Australia’s foremost viticulturists, has been working as a consultant, with improvements in vineyard performance already evident. All of the wines are truly estate grown and Penley’s vineyards are the pride of everything they do. Taking a very holistic approach to viticulture they seek to create a balance between the soil and the vine. With Kate at the helm Penley are now creating wines with freshness and vibrancy, seeking structure and expression of fruit, while still retaining varietal integrity.

    AVIGNONESI (CTIB/2018)

    Rated 0 out of 5
    ฿1,070.00 Add to cart

    Country :  Italy
    Vintage : 2018
    Region : Tuscany
    Sub region : Montepulciano
    Winery : Avignonesi
    Viticulture : Organic
History : Avignonesi’s Vino Nobile not only brought the winery fame, it also revitalized the DOC. After more than 25 years, Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano continues to be considered one of the region’s best. The wine is made entirely of Prugnolo Gentile (the local name for the clone of Sangiovese) from eight of the estate’s vineyard sites, all based on clay-rich soil. Vines range in age from 11 to 41 years old.

Following fermentation by native yeast, the wine rested on skins for a period of extended maceration. It was aged for 18 months: 80% in barriques, 20% in large barrels.
Tasting Notes : A soft, nicely-rounded wine with elegant aromas of fresh red berries and floral and balsamic undertones. Medium-bodied with a palate of ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit, silky tannins, and a long mineral finish. While nicely balanced enough to enjoy now, the wine will also age well for 6-8 years.
Description : This is a very fine, detailed and generous sangiovese (100%) with lifted red fruit aromas raspberry/cranberry and currants, fresh herbs/botanicals, and barrel spice. It is medium weight with a nice interplay of delicacy and firmness. The acids are juicy, the tannin slightly brittle and drying, the alcohol nicely balanced. Excellent focus and length. Best 2024 to 2032. Tasted March 2023”
93 points, David Lawrason, Wine Align, March 2023

“The 2018 Nobile di Montepulciano is pretty and understated in the glass, wafting up with a mix of black currants, savory herbs and worn leather hints. This is round with a balanced inner sweetness, displaying mineral-tinged wild berry fruit and nuances of confectionary spice. The 2018 leaves only a gentle coating of fine tannins while finishing with citrus nuances and a hint of hard red candies. The Avignonesi style lent quite well to this warm and rainy vintage; as a result, they created a very delicate yet likable Nobile.”
